Grants

The City of Chiloquin has been able to secure the grants listed below which will enable our city to embark on numerous projects aimed at enhancing our city and community.

  • Community Development Block Grant - October 2023 - $2,500,000. This CDBG grant will provide the remaining funding needed for the new water well project which will drill a new water well and rebuild the existing water well serving the City of Chiloquin.

  • Klamath County Tourism Grant - October 2023 - $10,473. This grant along with the KTRAP grant will be used to purchase and install an outdoor stage at the Chiloquin Rodeo Event Grounds.

  • DLCD Mass Timber Technical Assistance Grant - September 2023. The technical assistance which will be provided by Oregon's Department of Land Conservation and Development will enable the city to review and update its housing ordinances and codes to support mass timber, manufactured, and tiny homes within the City of Chiloquin.

  • The Klamath Tribes Revenue Allocation Plan Grant (KTRAP) - August 2023 - $5,327. This grant combined with the KC Tourism grant will be used to purchase and install an outdoor stage at the Chiloquin Rodeo Event Grounds.

  • AARP Community Challenge Grant - May 2023 - $14,540. This funding was provided to purchase the ADA compatible benches and tables, bike racks, trash can, and planter boxes at the downtown pocket park.

  • ODOT Safe Routes to School Grant - February 2023 - $1,597,600. This grant from the Oregon Department of Transportation, along with a $400,000 match by the city will construct sidewalks and bike paths along 2nd Avenue in line with Project 4 of the Chiloquin Pedestrian and Bike Plan.

  • OPRD Planning Grant - December 2022 - $28,000. This planning grant from Oregon's Parks and Recreation Department along with a $7,000 match by the city is being used to develop a parks master plan which will be used by the city as a blueprint for all updates and enhancements to the city's parks and recreational spaces.

  • US Environmental Protection Agency Cleanup Grant- Markwardt Garage Property, October 2022- $402,500. Funds from this grant will be used to address environmental issues identified at the former Markwardt Brothers Garage such as underground storage tanks, hydraulic lifts, asbestos containing materials, and lead based paint. The removal of these features and remediation of potential releases of contaminants associated with them will enable the city and community to consider re-development options for the property.

  • Business Oregon Water/Wastewater Funding - March 2022 - $1,640,000. These funds $890,000 (loan) and $750,000 (grant) will provide some of the funding needed for the wastewater project which will build a new wastewater treatment facility for the city.

  • US Environmental Protection Agency Community- wide Assessment Grant, October 2021- $300,000. This grant was awarded to help the City inventory, prioritize, and identify brownfield properties with the potential for beneficial reuse/redevelopment.  Brownfields are property, the expansion, development, or reuse of may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant.

  • OWRD Grant - February 2020 - $661,000. This grant from Oregon's Water Resource Department will provide some of the funding needed for the new water well project which will drill a new water well and rebuild the existing water well serving the City of Chiloquin.

  • Community Development Block Grant - September 2018 - $702,000. This CDBG grant will provide some of the funding needed for the wastewater project which will build a new wastewater treatment facility for the city.

  • Safe Drinking Water Revolving Loan Fund - July 2017 - $2,330,00. These funds, $1,013,000 (grant) and $1,317,000 (loan) will provide some of the funding needed for the new water well project which will drill a new water well and rebuild the existing water well serving the City of Chiloquin.
